Sutton Motorcycles in Tamworth has been appointed a Triumph dealer, completing the Hinckley manufacturer’s presence in the Midlands.

The dealership is run by father and son team Richard and Matt Worley, who between them have been involved in the industry for 40 years.

They will be undertaking a comprehensive site redevelopment at the end of summer to deliver a unique solus Triumph World store – called Triumph Birmingham East - above their existing Honda showroom.

Meanwhile, another dealer in the Triumph network, Ongar Motorcycles, has been bought by Lings Motor Group following the decision by former owner Alan Gurden to retire.

Founder dealer Gurden had been with the manufacturer since 1991 and was considered “a stalwart of the brand” for the past 28 years.

Interestingly, Lings is also a found dealer and the acquisition of Ongar – now to be known as Triumph Essex - increases its representation to three locations, the existing ones being Norfolk Triumph and Suffolk Triumph.

A Triumph communication said: “We look forward to working with the Lings team to further develop the business in this key area.

“Following a period of change within the UK network, we are pleased to be bringing the network back up to full strength, with only one other active open point in Oxford currently left to fill.”
